Biography
Biography
After receiving his theological doctorate in 1991, Uwe Sperling completed his studies at the Institute of Gerontology at the University of Heidelberg in 1995 (Dipl. Gerontol.). From 1992 to 2001, he was a research associate at the German Center for Research on Aging (DZFA). From 1992 to 2001, he was a research associate at the German Center for Research on Aging and participated in the longitudinal study ILSE. Since 2001 he has been working at the Geriatric Center of the University Medical Center Mannheim and coordinates the research projects conducted there. Other focal points of his work are dementia diagnostics, gerontological psychology and the field of suicidology and suicide prevention. Uwe Sperling heads the working group "Healthy aging in Mannheim" of the Mannheim Health Conference.
