Biography

Sophie Kniepkamp, graduated in Gerontology at the University of Vechta in 2020. 

During her master's degree, Sophie Kniepkamp studied one semester at the Hanzehogeschool Groningen in the Netherlands, in the program "Healthy aging". 

In her master's thesis, she investigated loneliness and technology use among older people (50+) in times of COVID-19, and the results were presented at the annual general meeting of the German Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics. In addition, she and her team and the project idea "Budd-e" won first place in the research competition of the "Landesinitiative Niedersachen Generationgerechter Alltag (LINGA)". In addition, she has been able to gain practical experience with the help of age simulation suits through advanced training in the field of living and aging. 

Since April 2021 she has been a doctoral student at the chair of Prof. Dr. Julia Krönung and since 2022 at the FernUniversität in Hagen at the chair of sociotechnical system design.
