Biography

Lizeth Sloot has graduated in Medical Physics at the VU University Amsterdam and obtained her PhD in Rehabilitation Medicine and Movement analysis in 2016 at the same institute. The next three years, she shifted her focus on assistive technology during a 3-year postdoc at Harvard University. The project assessed the application of soft wearable robotics (exosuits) to improve the walking ability of post-stroke patients. In 2019, she moved to Heidelberg to join the HeiAGE project in their ambition to measure the deterioration of movement and balance with ageing to design effective assistive technology.

Since March 2021, Lizeth leads her junior group in Computational Biomechanics and manages ZITI’s Heidelberg Center for Motion Research (HCMR).
