Biography
Alica Mertens graduated from the Goethe University Frankfurt with a Master’s degree in Psychology in 2015. In the same year, she started her Ph.D. in the Quantitative Research Methods lab headed by Prof. Dr. Andreas Voss at the Psychological Institute in Heidelberg. From 2016 to 2019, she was also responsible for the statistical consulting of students. After successful completion of her Ph.D. in 2019, she continued her scientific career at the HeiAge project (Assistance systems and digital technologies to improve mobility in old age, Heidelberg University) in a subproject supervised by Prof. Dr. Joachim Funke. In October 2021, she worked for the Department of Educational Psychology in Heidelberg (Prof. Dr. Birgit Spinath) for six months.
In March 2022, Alica Mertens became part of the SMART-AGE project as a post-doctoral researcher. She actively supports Prof. Dr. Beatrice Kuhlmann regarding the conceptualization and implementation of the psychological measurement protocol.
